About Uplands

Uplands is an area of the city you encounter as you drive north along the Island Highway. Situated on the East side of the highway, It was one of the first areas that experience growth as the city expanded. It hosts a nice mix of senior living complexes, condominiums, single-family homes, and light commercial enterprises. Besides being home to recreational facilities, the Uplands area hosts the beautiful Linley Valley, now a city park, it encompasses an area of several hundreds of undeveloped acres. Perfect for hiking and exploring nature, it features a mix of natural elements like old-growth trees, open meadows, and sunny bluffs. In the middle of all this sits the calm Cottle Lake.
